Tribute to Amy

This poem is a tribute to my friend Paula’s daughter Amy, who just crossed over the Rainbow Bridge.

A beautiful young lady whom I had the honor to meet a couple of months back.  This is for you Amy!

Tribute To An Angel

Legends of Fall

          They ‘re called

                   Why not, even of Winter

 Their sunshine eyes

          glisten in the night

                   where love prevails

 Their heart shines

          Even if dim at times

Yet, their smile

          Full of light remains

To a different world

          Do they pass

Where light is all there is

          Even more beautiful

                    Than here

 ‘Cause they’ve done

          What they were supposed to

They’ve loved

          Whom they were supposed to

And changed the lives

Of those they were supposed to

To a different world

          Do they pass

Where love is all there is

          Even more profound

                    Than here

‘Cause they’ve earned

          The right to be there

                   As true Angels among us

                             Always do.©

Happy Monday!

My thoughts and reflections are mixed this morning as I have been interacting  with different groups and individuals the last few days, not only background-wise but also culturally.

This year feels very different and I believe it has to do to a great extent with the washing off of the planetary transits we have had over the last couple of weeks.  The visual (and bodily-felt sensation) I have is being on the beach, lying on the sand right where the waves come in, after having played rackets for hours, running here and there, falling down and getting messy from the sand, yet exhilarated and blissful from the whole activity.

Lying finally down to catch a breath, feeling the waves come in washing off the sand, the sweat, the heat, refreshing you and allowing you to deeply sink in the way you feel.  *** I can even tell you which Greek island and beach I am on…

So, being in this felt sensation I believe is the signature of this year. How much more can you ground into your body, into your heart, into your senses so much so that the inner and outer become one? So much so that decision making and what to do next is effortless and organic because you are doing what is truly needed in the moment.

Sure, there are plans and goals but the driving force is from being not from doing.  The difference is very subtle I know and yet, there will be plenty of opportunities to become aware and practice in the months ahead.

Understanding where you have been the year prior – mentally, emotionally and spiritually – what were the themes you were working on and what you learned, is paramount to how you will navigate this year.  I would encourage you if you haven’t done a year review already, to take an hour or so in the next few days and do it. It may be eye-opener.

Have a glorious week.

I had the privilege of attending the live event of Birth 2012 at the Severna Park Hub in MD.

A wonderful event full of inspiration, music, connection with existing friends while meeting new friends, and partaking in a global movement with a focused intent.

The hubs from around the world were live over the internet , a mind bugling notion on its own if you think that millions of people all around the world were celebrating together and at the same time a new beginning; a new opportunity to write history as we wish it to be.

My blog on Friday covered a lot about the different influences we are encountering these days and the choices we have, and it was beautiful to watch the unfolding of this event and the blossoming in the human hearts of what we intend for the new world. This was a great example of the planetary opposition of Venus to Jupiter, when we were asked to choose and live according to what is just, true and beautiful.

If today is the first day of the rest of our lives, how will we start it, what will we choose differently, what will we let go of so that we are more aligned with our vision for our lives and those around us?

An exercise we did was to write down what we intent for us personally, for humanity and for earth and then share it out loud, giving in that way voice to what we intent and seed what is possible for the future.  My intent for humanity was to live with self -awareness and responsibility for our words, thoughts and deeds, and to embrace magic in daily living!

And with this intent, we move into the holly days of Christmas which whether celebrated religiously or not, their essence is one of love, gratitude and sharing of our hearts.

May it be a blessed time!.

I think this Winter Solstice is the most inspiring and exciting ever!

There are so many strong influences before and after the Solstice, enough to make these days a major “turning point” even without the Mayan story.

The Sun enters Capricorn, a shift in energy by itself, moving from the fiery one-pointed focused Sagittarius to the earthy, practical manifestor Capricorn. Having set our goals and aspirations  last month we now get to actualize them in a grounded and methodical way.

A few hours later, the Sun interacts with Neptune (in 1 degree Pisces) in a way that won’t happen again in our life time because of how long it takes Neptune to move through a sign.  This interaction is asking us to move through a threshold of consciousness to a new awareness of being, that unites and does not separate, that transforms reality as we know it, and that makes what is invisible visible.

Meanwhile,  a Yod configuration or the “finger of God” as it is called, is formed among Saturn, Pluto and Jupiter. Yods are important in that they carry a special energy, a charged energy that requires our attention to a release point,  a choice, or a break through.

I am not certain yet how it will all play out, but I consider Saturn in Scorpio asking for more depth and vulnerability in relationships, and Pluto in Capricorn asking for transformation in whatever foundation does not serve a higher purpose or vision of life, both pointing to a release through Jupiter, the great benefactor retrograde in Gemini, seeking communication and understanding.

An understanding that soothes the soul and mind, and is aligned with what is beautiful, true and just in all that we do, say and think; an influence from Venus as it opposes Jupiter the next day.

Lastly, as we bathe in this whole transformational energy, we also have the ending of one cycle (as it relates to the famous Mayan Calendar)  and the beginning of a new.  We are given (again) a once in a lifetime opportunity to be part of the New World history; we are literally asked to both write  our individual stories and do it in such a way that it is contributing to the greater whole.

A history that is anchored in the universal principles of right relationships, justice, freedom, joy, beauty and love.

All in all, these days are an incredibly fertile time for meditation, reflection and reception of intuitive hits and clarity.  I would strongly suggest to take some quiet time to be with yourself, fully present to what is and what you would like it to be; “it” being your life at all levels.

The new world starts with your unique story; share, express, communicate, aspire!  We are living in exciting times!

PS:  The once every 7 years World Servers Festival Week also takes place now, Dec 21-28th, 2012. Esoteric groups around the globe will be meeting online and subjectively for meditation, education and discussion on specific topics.  Visit the 2012 Initiative for more info and the international schedule.

This morning I woke-up with the question,  Am I in love?  The answer, an affirmative No,  was a reality check that I needed to pause-reflect-reboot, because the “in love” state of being provides unlimited inspiration and influences all areas of my life.

A couple of days ago we had a powerful Full Moon and a Lunar Eclipse in Gemini,  and being a Gemini, I found myself in an unusual state of introspection and reflection.  This morning’s question therefore helped me understand more about the psychology of that event.

First of all, both the Solar Eclipse on November 13 and this Lunar Eclipse on November 28 initiated a new cycle of experiences which will take us through the next pair of eclipses in May 2013.  To better understand the learning that comes during these cycles you can look back, in this case to the May 20/June 4, 2012 eclipses, and reflect on what has happened in your life since then.

Two days before the current eclipse, Venus was sitting side by side with Saturn, both in Scorpio.  Venus and Saturn have been conversing ceaselessly on relationship issues over the last six months through different angles, but the current one is like a tap on the shoulder asking you questions such as,  What have you learned about relationships over the last six months? Where and how do you feel nurtured and supported? What do you do when you don’t feel appreciated and acknowledged? How do you handle a loss or lack in intimate connection?

One day before the eclipse, Mars was sitting side by side with Pluto, both in Capricorn, adding to the above questions; What do you do when any of the above happens? Do you withdraw and feel like crap or do you say what you want? How can you respond differently from how you are used to, without fear of being too vulnerable or sharing too much, so that you are at peace within? What will you choose to do so as to build a foundation for supportive and fulfilling relationships for many years to come?

Lastly, this Lunar eclipse in Gemini may have helped eclipse something from the past, perhaps a behavioral pattern that does not serve you any more, or you may have realized the need to  change how you relate and communicate because all else leaves you drained and bitter.

As we are still under the signature of this Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse, take the time to reflect on what may the case be for you; then take note of how you would like your intimate life to be, how you would like to feel and what you would like to experience so that you feel inspired, supported and in love!

As a writer I often play with my demons who appear out of nowhere to haunt me, even if it is for a  short while.  And then my writing becomes more poetic, more esoteric, one I want to cherish and keep for myself.  However, I have also realized that during those times of  intense writing, of jumping into the deep blue sea of the Neptunian heart and soul, is when I actually become more alive.

These are the times when I reach for love and connection from a different perspective, a different yearning.  The current astrological cycle of such an intense Scorpio influence has been an eye opener for me, as patterns come up to the surface to be recognized, understood and released so that more of what is to come, can splendidly claim its place into my life.

The New Moon and Solar eclipse we just had a few days ago on November 13th, initiated a new cycle of experiences which will last for about six months till the next eclipse in May 2013.  One of the things I love about Astrology is its scientific element, that you can look into cycles within cycles and understand life; understand how the cycles of our individual lives work and recognize the learning opportunities, insights, and choices we are given so abundantly to make things work in the most harmonious way.

One way to put this in practice is by looking at your life over the last six months since the  New Moon and Solar Eclipse in May 2012, and reflect on what have been the major themes you have been working with since then.  Perhaps some of them came to a completion now or may be more acute in their occurrence.

With this lunation in Scorpio along with a few other key planets in this emotionally deep water sign, it may not be easy to let go.  It may not be easy even to accept why certain things are the way they are, let alone trying to change, transform or even release them.

Ultimately though, all challenges are about stepping into more knowing and peace within, more love and fulfillment.  And the compass, the lighted path towards whatever lies ahead, is the way you feel in your heart at every given moment.    Personally I have found no other way to navigate life and its increased demands and challenges, or  to courageously pursue my dreams and aspirations.

Lastly, I was reminded of a beautiful passage from Paulo Coelho‘s The Alchemist, I blogged about a while back:

“Listen to your heart.  It knows all things, because it came from the Soul of the World, and it will one day return there”…

“Why do we have to listen to our hearts?”, the boy asked…

“Because wherever your heart is, that is where you will find your treasure”…

A couple of days ago I listened to an interview of Ali Brown with Marianne Williamson on “Women & Leadership”.  This is a hot topic in my circles, as well as the main focus of my work, and was interesting to listen to Marianne and how she defines leadership, especially as it pertains to politics.

One of the things I respect about her is how she always tells things how they are without giving a damn how others will take it!

A couple of her comments stood out as they both reflect the current astrology and my teachings;  “Sometimes the circumstances that teach us the most are not necessarily the circumstances other people would even understand or relate to”, and that “our role model should be who we are ultimately to be.”

On the same day with this interview, the Sun (only 3 days in Scorpio) met up close and personal with Saturn (recent in Scorpio too), an aspect (conjunction) that hasn’t occurred for about 30 years. When the Sun enters a new sign, it is like a fresh breath of air, an opportunity to see something with new eyes. And depending on that sign’s affinity with your natal blueprint and how prominent it is, that breath of air may have more of a personal sensation.

With the Sun meeting Saturn, it is as if this new fresh breeze intends to emphasize a newness in the heart, a newness in what is to come.  With Saturn, the Great Teacher, there is always a learning involved and that learning will be unique to each one of us.

Moreover, with Scorpio’s signature in the air, part of this learning is about self-awareness and intimacy, no matter what the container, no matter whether it makes sense to anyone else or not. And, we will be given plenty of opportunities over the next three years to discover the depths and boundaries of our own authority, the truth of who we may become when we follow the unique path that lies ahead, the one only we can see and tread.

As you go about your week, take a moment to reflect on the situations when you question what you do or think and instead of first checking in with your heart, you either seek external approval or compare with what others would do/have done. There is nothing wrong with asking for advice or study how others, ahead of you, live their life as long as you can discern what is part of their reality and what is yours to explore, experience and learn.

Have a great week!

This afternoon as I was making a video about my new class, “Using Astrology To Live The Relationship Of Your Dreams”, and commenting on what are some of Saturn in Libra themes, I realized that when we talk about challenges in relationships more often than not these are negative, ie divorce, separation, heartache, etc.

However, meeting a soul mate can also be challenging.  I actually think it is even more  challenging because you are then asked to not only leave behind any expectations and beliefs that are colored by your past experiences, but also to step up and show the best of who you are.

Or, you may also choose to show the worst of you because you are afraid (or don’t know) what that “best” will look like;  how much love “it” will be able to give and receive; how much happiness “it” can stand.

I believe that intimate relating is the most challenging of all relationship kinds, especially for women.  There is a lot of pressure and unconscious conditioning that plays out, even generational and family karma, and that is why intimate relationships are the best platform for personal and spiritual growth.

I do know that it is much easier to be single, there is no “work” involved, no commitment no nothing. Or,  to choose unavailable mates who will prove to be not the right fit after all.  But, if you are determined to live a life and love with no compromise and discover who you are deep within and enjoy every minute of it, you would be in awe as to your findings.

So, as you go about your weekend I invite you to reflect on which end of the scales (Libra theme) do you rest; the one labeled “I am afraid of love but willing to go for it anyway” or the one that writes “I don’t want to deal with that, it’s too much work?”

Here is the video I made:
